Maxwell Jackson has had a very interesting school year to say the least. When last we checked, this freshman player out of De La Salle was attending and soon to try out to play for the University of Illinois at Chicago. But things happened to change all that; two big things to be exact. First off, things didn't clear up fast enough from the NCAA ClearingHouse to allow Jackson to be eligible to play this just concluded season. So he had to sit out. Secondly the muddled, unstable, and controversial situation at UIC involving it's coaching staff allowed Jackson to think seriously that he may not be in the right place at the right time. With head coach Jimmy Collins out most of the season on a leave of absence, and an assistant coach being removed in mid season due to possible misconduct allegations being made against him, Jackson knew that what he bought into so as to come to UIC had changed.

Off he went than in mid-year to Spoon River College, a highly respected junior college program located in Canton Il.,  just southwest of Peoria.  Jackson will attend this school for 2007-2008, and will still have 4 years of playing eligibility remaining. Although going in as a academic sophomore, Jackson could commit during this summer back to UIC for '08-'09, and may also be looking into other schools starting that same year, including perhaps Valparaiso University .
